Part-Time Retail Associate and Sample Librarian

Alongside our full range of design and project management services, the firm’s interiors boutique, Laurel Rd. Antiques & Modern (LRAM) offers a remarkably curated collection of antique, mid-century, classical, and modern treasures for designers, design enthusiasts, and shoppers to experience online and in our shop in Memphis, TN. 

Purpose of the role:

We are seeking a capable retail associate to join our collaborative team by assisting in the daily operations and management of inventory at LRAM and providing additional support to the upkeep of the Lindley Martens Design sample library.  This is a part-time position with the opportunity to work more hours commensurate to competency.  

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and interact with customers hospitably
  • Conduct sales 
  • Update and maintain inventory in-store and online – this includes keeping track of new inventory, tagging, photographing, researching items, and uploading inventory to Shopify and Chairish
  • Visual merchandising – maintain visual order and appeal of LRAM merchandise
  • File fabric and wallpaper samples in our sample library and discard discontinued samples
  • Light cleaning and organizing – dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, breaking down boxes to maintain order in the shop and office 

*As we are a small studio, you may be asked to perform duties outside of these responsibilities. For example, you may be asked to make a post on Instagram, call a showroom, or go to the post office. A willingness to get involved is essential!  

Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate is organized, proactive, friendly, dependable, flexible, and a team player. Experience working in retail is a plus. Familiarity with Shopify POS system and Chairish is a plus. An interest in interior design and antiques is a plus!

Compensation:

$20/hr + 30% store discount.
